Worshipful Wednesday

I probably won’t do a Worshipful Wednesday post every week, but periodically, when I really need it, I might find a way to include worship videos here as a post. I hope you enjoy it. After the way this week started out and simply the way the last few weeks have gone, today I’m purposefully trying to press in and spend time in the Lord’s presence. What better way to do that than worship?

worshipful wednesday

It all started with today’s musical itch, just the song in my head today, and I took that to my iTunes and told it to create a playlist. So, these tunes today are from our personal collection and are what I often listen to and enjoy.

This was the song in my head today. I didn’t remember what song it was and had to have my teenager find it and pull it up for me. This is a new one for us, or pretty new; I found it when searching for chord sheets for live worship at church.

Worshipful Wednesday

I’ve been starting my mornings with that last one. It’s perfect, don’tcha think? I set it as my alarm tone on my phone and have been remembering to take my phone to bed. I set a rule for myself, that I can’t hit the snooze until the song is over. By then, I need to get up and use the restroom, and by the time I’ve done that I tend to realize that now I’m up and I can and should stay up.

There’s something about happy praise music that helps me. It might be that I get infected with the beat and start dancing, and it might be that dancing starts some chemical processes in a body that causes all the depressive chemicals to leave. There might be a scientific explanation, but I firmly believe that most of those “scientific explanations” are simply the visible evidence, the manifestation – if you will, of what is a spiritual truth: God inhabits the praises of His people!

What are you listening to this week?

Yes! I am a fan of all of these and more. :) I like to put on praise and worship music first thing in the morning, too, and sometimes on dreary days like today, I just let it play all day long. It really lifts the mood of the whole household! Thanks for sharing this with us at Grace and Truth last week!

So true! It helped lift me out of the fog I’d been in; did you see the post from the Monday just prior to this? It’s titled “I’m Not Immune” and I was in a pretty dark place when I wrote it. God inhabits the praises of His people, and He is faithful to lift us out of the muck! Thanks for taking the time to visit and comment! Blessings!

Love it, DaLynn! We are a music-loving family here. Love all the ones you shared today. I love Mandisa’s song, but since it’s in my workout playlist, I find myself wanting to dance to it. LOL
We have been listening to a lot of MercyMe’s new album, Welcome to the New, Michael W Smith’s new Praise album, Christy Nockels Worship album, Stephen Curtis Chapman’s newer hymns album, and mix of Switchfoot. :)
I have been thinking about doing a musical link-up of some sort. Would you be interested in co-hosting that with me?

You just listed all our favorite people! Well, almost all… 😉 And I WOULD be interested in co-hosting! Shoot me an email or a PM on facebook, and thanks for asking! Glad you enjoyed the post – feeling the need to dance is why I picked these. LOL Have a blessed weekend!
