Is weight loss one of your goals this year? Are you wary of all the chemicals in the supplements available in stores? I lost 11 pounds between Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day this year (*2013), doing nothing above taking ACE, an all natural supplement by Saba.
*UPDATE! I have continued to lose weight, but have not yet reached my goal. This coming year, I’ll be using Saba’s ACE in conjunction with some other methods and items – ACE being the main component – to reach my goal this year! Keep up with me during 2015 with my Weight Loss Wednesday posts!
I’ve seen many weight loss products, and many direct sales and MLM companies. I’ve seen some things work, and some things come back later as having been dangerous because of this chemical or that. And every weight loss supplement I’ve ever seen says to be sure and eat a healthy diet, drink lots of water, and exercise while taking it for best results. Well, duh! If we were good at all of that, most of us wouldn’t need the help a weight loss supplement is supposed to provide. Just saying.
But, the proof is in the pudding, as the saying goes. (Maybe a bad choice of words? HA! I apologize!) I was a little leery of taking a supplement, so I researched the ingredients. Many companies and products claim to be “all natural” but I do know enough to know that’s not always a completely honest claim. My friend “J” over at Birbitt Thinks is my “resident” expert on all things natural. I just trust her opinion because she lives a more natural lifestyle than anyone I know personally, and at the same time isn’t nutty and all tree-hugger about it. Here is the flyer they provide on their ingredients HERE:
- Caffeine (trimethylxanthine)
- chromium polynicotinate
- garcinia cambogia extract (HCA)
- green coffee bean extract
- green tea extract
- konjac root (glucomannan)
- PEA (phenylethylamine)
- panax ginseng extract
- raspberry ketones
- saffron extract
- semnostachya menglaensis & lotus leaf extract
The only thing on the list my friend was leery of is the methylsynephrine. She knows someone who had a severe allergic reaction to it. I did some research on that, and the few other terms up there that didn’t sound like plants. This one comes from acacia and some cacti. Plant! Theobromine I hadn’t recognized, but it’s in chocolate. L-carnitine is a protein produced in the body, and it serves to provide energy. Chromium polynicotinate is the mineral form of chromium, and WebMD says it’s essential in small amounts and is used for several things including improving mood in addition to weight loss. Every ingredient on the list is deemed safe at WebMD, and most of them are just simple plant extracts with no additional info on that particular site.
The way ACE works is multi-faceted. Mostly, it works as an appetite suppressant. It just helped me eat less food. I felt it; I became full much before I was done eating, or before I had eaten everything I thought I would. I wasn’t nauseous or crampy or anything like that; I was just… full. Simply. In reading the materials, it also helps with increased energy and faster metabolism. I don’t doubt these things, seeing as the eleven pounds I lost in a month is pretty great itself, but the fact that it was between Thanksgiving and Christmas is even more telling! How much weight did you lose between Thanksgiving and Christmas? Yes. Exactly.
Looking at the picture it might be a little difficult to tell. I didn’t take great before and after pictures, so the clothes probably aren’t the best for this comparison. They also aren’t at the same distance from me, and you’ve got the semi-pro shot on the left and my husband’s surprise snapshot on the right. If you look at my hip line, and the curve outline of my body, I think you can see the loss. It’s usually visible first in my face; I think it’s quite visible, but it might be harder to see with my expression in the “after” shot. Look at the general shape of my face; look at my cheekbones and the width of my chin.
It’s just 11 pounds, but it’s 11 full pounds in just 4 weeks. That’s almost 3 pounds every week, which is as much as anyone can hope and expect to lose all at once. And I did nothing else. I didn’t even increase my water, which you’re supposed to do just to help with digestion and such. I didn’t have much trouble there, though it was noticeable towards the end of the month. I do recommend increasing your water, and I’ll do so myself on the next round.
Yes, that’s right – this is one review where I’m going to continue buying this and using it for the recommended six months. I plan to join the company to receive the distributor discount, but can’t do so until towards the end of the month. In the meantime, PLEASE consider doing a trial – just email me for your free sample!
