I received for the purpose of review 3 writing pens – that’s right, just regular ole pens, useful for any writing task you might have, from reports and essays to love notes to grocery lists, to the ever popular phone number on the palm of your hand. UgLee Pens are making their way around the country (if not further), because – let’s face it folks! – they are UGLY!

Ugly or not, these pens get the job done. The shaft on these is thinner than usual and covered with a shaped rubber tube. Actually, the full name of the pens according to their website, is Ultimate Grip Pen and it was invented by Dr. James Lee. So that’s how they came up with the cute name I guess, but my blogger friends and I sure have gotten a kick out of calling it “ugly” too!

In using this pen, at first it was odd to me. I had to figure out how to hold it, but that’s part of the idea is that it helps you hold the pen correctly. They say it will help anyone who’s having trouble with the mechanics of holding a writing utensil, such as kiddos learning the writing basics or even those who need some handwriting remediation. It feels kind of weird, like the sticky rubber hand toys we used to play with as kids, but after I got used to it I really like this pen!

Of course, it’s just fun too, and the kids all stole my pens and now I can’t find them for more pictures for this review. (I guess that had to happen sooner or later to my review items, right? It’s just funny that of all things, they take off with my PENS quicker than anything else!) They’re available to order in packs of three, with black ink, and in several pen shaft colors. You can also order ink refills in three writing ink colors – black, blue, and red. The pens are $19.99 for the 3 pack, but you can enter here to win a pack of your own!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
