Pine Bros. Softish Throat Drops

I received for the purpose of review a large shipment of Pine Bros. Softish Throat Drops. I can’t believe how much they sent! They sent several packages of two different flavors, Black Cherry and Natural Honey, plus 3 plastic “tins” of each flavor as well.

These are not cough drops, as I first thought, but are for soothing a sore throat. The problem has been (ahem) that we haven’t had anyone with a sore throat! I suppose that’s a great problem to have though! I did open and taste both flavors, and they are pretty good! I even let the kids try them, and they are fans as well. I know that if and when we need these, the kids will be happy to use them and not shy away because these don’t taste or even smell like medicine.

When they say “softish” that is exactly what they mean – they are neither hard, nor soft, but are about the texture of licorice. They’d be sticky if you tried to chew them, but they are hard enough to keep away from the small ones as a choking hazard. They aren’t dry at all; in fact, my mother has been using them to help keep her mouth moist!

The only active ingredient in these drops is glycerin – that’s it! Most of the other ingredients are natural components – honey, elderberry, sugar, water, citric acid, sunflower oil. We are trying to slowly move to more natural products (very, very slowly, mind you!) and these certainly have more natural ingredients than anything I would have previously grabbed from the shelf. There are some other ingredients I’m not sure about, such as gum acacia and carnauba wax, but like I said – it’s more natural than the other products we’ve been using, and they are pretty yummy too!

One thing I hadn’t realized about this company is that they appear to at least possibly be a Christian company. Their ABOUT page acknowledges God, which so many businesses hesitate to do these days. I appreciate it! You can find Pine Bros. at CVS Pharmacy, online at their store, and other retailers, and connect with them on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest. I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

I think the throat drops sound wonderful. I actually tried to find some the other day and couldn’t find them. I am going to have to see where these are available so I can try them.
