It’s that time, friends – I have a high school student looking to graduate soon! Before I had the opportunity to review HomeschoolDiploma.com, I hadn’t really given much thought to what we were going to do for a ceremony or any of the fun little side things, such as homeschool diplomas themselves. I’m thankful to the Crew for getting me on the ball with this, and I’m happy to talk to you about some of the products – such as the Exclusive High School Diploma – available from HomeschoolDiploma.com!
We ordered the Vintage Style High School Diploma and chose to add an embossed seal and an honors seal. We also got the deluxe cover, and it all makes for a very nice presentation! Christian chose not to look at it when it arrived, but he DID help pick out the individual personalization portions when I ordered. And let me tell you – you can personalize these homeschool diplomas up one side and down the other! We were able to choose:
- the seal design, with embossed foil
- the name of our school and graduate (of course)
- the date – we could’ve added an actual date but chose to just put the month and year
- the titles that appear under the signature lines at the bottom
- an added honors seal, choosing between 3 options
- the seal design for the front of the cover
We had intended, when we first looked at the website, to get one of the homeschool diplomas which offers the opportunity to put a verse on the diploma. We almost missed our deadline to order and it was late at night, so we goofed up and didn’t order the right one to have that done. To have that option you need to go with the Exclusive High School Diploma – and we wanted to get a few extras instead of spending our full allotment on just that, so we sacrificed the verse/motto option to do so.
I’ll tell you what else we ordered in a moment, but first I wanted to emphasize what a fantastic and quality item this homeschool diploma is! The cover is very nice – almost exactly the same one I received in high school. The fabric is on both sides of the inside of the cover. It comes with an opaque, thin sheet to protect it on the inside. There’s a sheet of acetate tucked into the fabric corners to protect the diploma itself, and the opaque page protects that. It arrived with instructions on signing the diploma so that you don’t mess it up, and even informs you that you can get a replacement diploma sheet (if you DO mess it up! HA!) for just $10.
The paper the diploma is printed on is very thick cardstock, very nice. The printing is slightly embossed; nothing I could do on my home printer. Of course the embossed seal is nice, and I was tickled at the three options for the honors seals. I was very impressed to have the option to personalize the titles under the signature lines. You could do mother/father, teacher/principal, instructor/mentor, or anything you wanted. It has several suggestions and we went with one of those, but you can type in what you want if you’d rather.
We also ordered an honors medal with ribbon. That was Christian’s request, after spending a half hour or more combing over all the options on the site. There are tons of products to see to make your graduate’s day special! There are even caps and gowns, pens, gifts, cords, invitations, and more! They sent a couple of invitation samples, and I have no doubt that we will be returning to this company not only for Christian’s graduation needs next year, but for years to come as we begin to look toward high school for our next boys.
As you can see, there are a lot of personalization options on the invitations as well. We might decide to go with the tri-fold invitation in the lower right corner. I love how much room they give you on these, even down to including that scripture verse that my son had wanted to include on his diploma. The name cards and inserts, envelopes, even address labels and year stickers for seals – everything is optional. We’ll definitely be back!
I’ve not seen anything comparable to this for homeschool diplomas, and it’s not much out of pocket to get a very nice piece of memorabelia. I think it will help our always-homeschooled kiddos feel more “official” before they head out to meet the world. You can connect with HomeschoolDiploma.com on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.
