I posted about having your eyes open just the other day, and the whole week or so has kind of had an “eyes” theme around here. What a better way to highlight eyes and what the Lord is showing me about “seeing” than with a makeup post! Yes? What if it also happens to be all natural makeup? Even better!
I was sent makeup for the purpose of review from the Younique brand of products and Tennille Stevenson. Younique offers natural beauty products including lashes, pigments, concealers, blushes, primers, brushes, rose water, bb cream, moisturizer, lip gloss, and facial cleaner. They have some gorgeous sets and collections, and I love all the beautiful eye colors!
They are really proud of their 3D Fiber Lashes right now; I think they are a new product, but don’t hold me to that. Wendy Kirkham sent me this awesome product to try out and show you all the difference. Check out these before and after pictures!
The 3d Fiber Lashes set is a 2 product set including a collagen base that is a lot like mascara, and a second step to add the fibers. Then you go back over the lashes with the collagen again to make it stick. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but the collagen product looks, feels, and works just like mascara. The brush for it looks just like any mascara brush. It was the fibers that was a little different. The container looks the same and you pull the wand out just like you would for mascara, but this looks like a fuzzy large q-tip kind of end and you add the feather clippings looking black lashes to your lashes. It almost felt like I’d cut the fluff off of a fuzzy stuffed animal and was adding those tiny hairs to my eyes. Kind of strange, but it definitely filled out my eyelashes! Then go back over it with the collagen mascara again and you’re good for the evening!
I really love the pigments, or what I usually call eye shadows. I’m all about color and Younique offers a wide variety of some fantastic colors, and even some shades that sparkle! The ingrdients include only Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxide, Tin Oxide, Bismuth Oxychloride Carmine, and Zinc Oxide, which my natural friends tell me is pretty good for natural considerations. In fact, you can see the ingredient listing of every product on the website. If using natural products is important to you, you need to check out Younique makeup products. I had a blast using them and got some compliments even at church, and I didn’t feel icky when it was late before i could take off the makeup. It’s always like that for me, and using natural products allows me to breathe a little easier if that happens.
Do you wear makeup? Would you ever consider using fake lashes?
I found these much more comfortable to wear and apply than traditional fake lashes, by the way. I didn’t feel like I was wearing fake lashes at all, nothing stuck to my face to pull off later, and no strange application techniques. It was all the volume and depth without the fake-ness.
