This is Day 2 of my series on Christian Business, to help you steward your dollars into the Kingdom whenever possible. Today’s post is about restaurants, and there are many more out there than just the well-known Chik-fil-A. We all knew that one was religious before all of the political stuff in recent years, because they are closed on Sunday not least of the reasons. But while these restaurants may not be as big into politics or the lime-light, they are still run on Biblical values and are deserving of your patronage. Try to turn into some of these driveways instead, whenever you have the option!
NOTE: THIS IS NOT A SPONSORED POST. I HAVE RECEIVED NO FORM OF COMPENSATION FOR ANYTHING ON THIS PAGE. THESE ARE NOT AFFILIATE LINKS. I JUST WANT MY READERS TO BE AWARE OF BUSINESSES THAT ARE OWNED BY CHRISTIANS AND RUN ON CHRISTIAN VALUES. BLESSINGS!
Christian Owned Restaurants
While there are specifically some companies to which we are hunting down Christian alternatives, I haven’t specifically found any restaurants that are standing up against those values. None of the 35 Tweeters in favor of SCOTUS was an actual restaurant, though we will cover groceries – both places to shop and vendors to patron – in a later post. But, because I’m sure you’ll be out and about this holiday season, I wanted to put a few signs in front of you to watch for when your stomach starts growling!
According to Breitbart, owner Lynsi Snyder is a dedicated Christian who stays out of the lime light. Snyder herself has had tumultuous past, including 3 marriages and surviving a kidnapping attempt. In-N-Out prints Bible verses on the bottoms of its cups as well as other packaging, and isn’t shy about their faith-based ownership. I’ve heard that they also offer a lettuce-wrapped burger for those on gluten-free or low-carb diets. There’s a rumor that we’ll get one locally soon, and I’m super excited!
Mostly a southeast chain found in the Carolinas, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, and others, I heard about Cookout from a comment on The Blaze. WHile i couldn’t find anything on their site to indicate their faith basis, several news articles announcing a coming-soon or just-opened location seem to verify it for us. This is another restaurant that prints verses on its packaging, even including VeggieTales themed items with their kids menus. (That’s familiar to us, isn’t it? Chick-fil-A does the same thing.)
Another one that came to me through the grapevine, Pizza Ranch is yet another fantastic Christian business. They are a franchise-based business that serves pizza and chicken. You can even order online! Their blog shows that they are unapologetically faith based, where they post devotionals weekly and even have a button in their sidebar where you can submit your prayer requests. It won’t let me check location without entering a zip code, and I know we don’t have any near me in Central Texas. If you have one near you, let me know where in the comments!
Don’t forget to check out the updated (and under construction!!) Christian Business Directory! The new index has listings for small businesses from people selling their own items including (but not limited to) faith themed items, and individual representatives of direct sales companies. Some of the companies are Christian owned and some are not, but by supporting these individuals you are helping the larger Church – the Body of Christ – and being a blessing. Stop by and have a look!
Do you know of other Christian owned and operated restaurants? Please make us aware of them by posting in the comments!!
