Day 4 of the Christian Business guide for 2015 – and Happy Thanksgiving! – features clothing stores owned by Christians and operated on Christian values. Do you know what I’ve found? Not only is there a wide myriad of clothing companies that offer extensive and exclusive faith-themed apparel, but there are plenty of companies that offer the current fashions in any theme which are also Christian based! I think you’ll be tickled pink, as I was, to see how many Christian clothing businesses are out there!
NOTE: THIS IS NOT A SPONSORED POST. I HAVE RECEIVED NO FORM OF COMPENSATION FOR ANYTHING ON THIS PAGE. THESE ARE NOT AFFILIATE LINKS. I JUST WANT MY READERS TO BE AWARE OF BUSINESSES THAT ARE OWNED BY CHRISTIANS AND RUN ON CHRISTIAN VALUES. BLESSINGS!
The list of 35 companies that Tweeted in favor of SCOTUS several months ago was discouraging, and there were several clothing companies on that list. Old Navy, Gap, Guess, and Levi were among them as well as several large retailers such as Target, Macy’s, and Sears. For what it’s worth – yes, I am still a Personal Shopper with Sears, but I was released from my Concierge status a year ago. I’ve done a few things here or there since the SCOTUS Tweets, but it is no longer a company I am recommending – whether I make money from it or not. Here are several alternatives!
I originally found this posted at The Blaze, but if you’ve shopped there in the past you probably are already aware that Forever 21 has the champion verse of Christianity printed on its bags. John 3:16 The owners – the Changs – are outspokenly Christian and incorporate Christian young people and designers into their business. These days, they even have a women’s plus-sized division! Their prices are low and their clothes – both faith themed and not – are cute! Don’t forget to stop by in your local mall while you’re out shopping this year.
Timberland sells boots and outdoor clothing, so it’s perfect for your kids who do camping groups! They’ve got great looking women’s outdoor clothing too, so don’t forget about yourself and those girls. They’ve even got a great blog to point out current fashion trends and deals; one whole tab is marked $15. Business Insider says that owner Jeff Swartz – of Jewish faith – is known for his commitment to social responsibility. He’s even severed ties with companies utilizing Chinese sweat shops.
Sierra Trading Post
Another outdoors clothing outfitter, Sierra Trading Post has a 3-part “We Believe” statement on their website; one of those statements is the Biblical command to treat others as we would want to be treated. I’ve seen online that this page at least used to say that they operate on the standards and teachings of Jesus Christ. I’m not sure why they took it down, but we recognize that last statement as His teaching for sure! Sierra has a fantastic return policy – a full year!
Now, I’m sure you’re aware that there is a myriad of clothing providers out there which specialize in faith-themed apparel. You can get items from many brands at Mardel – which is owned, by the way, by Hobby Lobby. The Armored Farmer is a blog, but it lists many articles of Christian clothing companies. Here are just a few of the companies I’m aware of that carry faith clothing, and if you’re aware of more please let me know in the comments!
- C28 – NOTW (Not Of This World)
- JCLU (Jesus Christ Loves U…)
- Covered N the Word
- Twice Born Store
- Grateful Apparel
- 19 Upstream
- 1King WorshipWear
- Live the Word
And don’t forget to visit the Christian Business Directory where you will find not only these businesses but also many independent people selling their own creations or as representatives for a direct sales company! The individuals are all Christians; some of them carry faith themed items and some don’t, and some of the companies they rep for are Christian run corporately and some are not – but these are good, Kingdom people who deserve your support. Thanks for looking!
